How long have you been in the fitness industry: May 2013
Worst accident ever: This one scared me for life - I live in Canada, we can get 2-3ft of snow in one day. A couple winter's ago I was driving down the highway, changing lanes from the right to the left and my car fish-tailed on some snow in the middle of the two lanes.. All of a sudden I did a 180 and was facing oncoming traffic, I flew across from the left lane to the right - INTO the ditch on the other side of the highway. Luckily there were no cars around me... It was the scariest 30 seconds of my life! I thought that I was going to hit a lamp post as I flew into the ditch backwards but I just missed it by a few inches, and my car was stuck in snow up to my windows. Oh man...!! I didn't want to drive for weeks.
Other hobbies: I like to be outdoors and active! I love to hike, go for runs, track sprints, weight lifting, plyometrics training, spin class, kickboxing. Basically anything fast that will get my heart rate up and endorphins flying through the roof!
How important is fitness to you and how has it impacted your life: Fitness is important to me because it has allowed me to find myself in a crazy world and has changed my direction/life for the better. It has shown me what I am truly capable of achieving with hard work and believing in myself, and continues to teach me new things about myself and life - every single day! There was two times in my life that I felt lost for direction; when I was a rebellious teenager, and after losing my dad to cancer. I didn't know what direction I was headed next, I was lost, sad and confused. Both times it was through health and fitness that I made it through the darkest times in my life to date. I truly believe this lifestyle can empower you even in the darkest of times, and allow you to become the best version of yourself that you can possibly be. It has for me, which is why I fell in love with showing others how much this lifestyle can benefit them too.
